Secret Things and Highland Flings by Tracy Corbett

When summer comes around, I always like to read something romantic and easy to follow and this book certainly seemed to fit the definition.

Secret Things and Highland Flings by Tracy Corbett follows Lexi, who has been having a difficult divorce. Not only has her husband left her for another woman, he’s also bankrupted her and put her art business at risk. Her only chance to bring things back to where they should be is a new commission from the Wentworth family in Scotland. However, Olly is a complication she didn’t expect: the eldest male Wentworth is now an Earl, and owns a castle in the Highlands but the estate is struggling and needs cash. However he seems keen not to allow Lexi to look into the past of a potentially valuable painting. Will the secrets that both Lexi and Olly are keeping from each other get in the way of a potential romance?

I enjoyed this story. It didn’t require much thinking about and I always enjoy romances that start out with the protagonists arguing and disliking each other, before finally falling in love. I also enjoyed the Scottish setting. A great quick read for fans of romance novels.
